You got an email from us. Here is what it is.
We looked at your business from the outside and wrote to you: usually with a working version of something we would do for you, at a link; sometimes to ask for a conversation about the systems nobody can see from outside. This page explains that in full, including how to check it is really us and how to make it stop.
What we looked at
Only what your business publishes: your website, your booking or contact flow, your listings and reviews. We did not log in to anything; everything we looked at is open to anyone.
What the link is
A page on demos.lagrangesoftware.net, our demo host. It is a concept built for your business and labelled as one at the top of the page. It is unlisted, search engines are told not to index it, and it is not permanent: ask and we take it down. If the email asked for a session instead of linking a concept, there is no page: the invitation is David's time, free, on video or in person around Milwaukee.
How to check it is us
The email came from an address ending in @lagrangesoftware.net, our sending domain. The link begins with https://demos.lagrangesoftware.net/. The footer of the email carries our postal address. If anything differs, it was not us; forward it to david@lagrangesoftware.net and we will look.
What happens next
That depends on you. Reply and we will answer; the finished version is priced in a written scope before anything starts. Ignore it and nothing more is asked of you. Say stop and we stop writing.
Why we work this way
Every business owner gets pitched all day, and every pitch asks for the same thing first: your time, on faith. We would rather earn the conversation. A working version shows what we saw, what we can do, and how we work, in the time it takes you to click a link. If it is good, you will know. If it is not, you have lost nothing and we have learned something.
What we will never do
- Send you a generic message that could have gone to anyone.
- Pretend the concept is your live site, or let search engines treat it as one.
- State a fact about your business that your business does not itself publish.
- Keep writing after you have asked us to stop.
- Charge you anything for a concept.
Your photos, logo, and text
If the concept uses them, it is only to show your business what its own site or system could be. They stay yours. If you would rather the page did not exist, reply “take it down” and we take it down.
To stop hearing from us
Any one of these works:
- Reply to the email with the word “stop”.
- Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
- Write to david@lagrangesoftware.net.
We record the request and stop writing to you. A reply is the quickest; a press on the link is read from our logs, usually within the hour.
